Come join the Tri-Community Adult Learning Association's team of volunteers and gain the rewarding experience of helping an adult learn the English language, learn to read or write, understand math, or conquer their fear of the computer.

Volunteering at TriCALA

At TriCALA, Volunteer Tutors work one-on-one with adult learners to build basic reading, writing, math, computer, or English language skills.  They are matched with a learner and meet with them once a week for up to 2 hours at the agreed upon local location.

 

Volunteer Tutors are provided with initial training, regular in-service workshops, and on-going support from the Literacy Liaison.

To Be a Volunteer, you need:

  • A high school diploma or high school equivalency

  • An accepting and open attitude

  • An enjoyment of working with others

  • A willingness and enthusiasm to learn!!
